After you've applied to Tennessee Wesleyan and made the decision to study in the United States, it's important to start preparing the paperwork and process of getting approved to study in America. To simplify the process, TWC's Office of International Student Services has put together some useful information from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the appropriate U.S. government agencies that will help you get staretd.
Where do you start?
Congratulations on your decision to study in the United States, and especially at Tennessee Wesleyan College! A very rewarding and life-changing experience awaits you.
Once you are accepted to TWC, a Form I-20 will be sent to you. The Form I-20 is a paper record of your information in a USCIS database called SEVIS. Check your Form I-20 against your passport information to make sure that your name and date of birth (DOB) are correctly listed and spelled. If it is not correct, contact the TWC official who sent you the Form 1-20.
Once you have your Form I-20, you are ready for the next step: scheduling an appointment at a U.S. embassy or consulate and paying your SEVIS I-901 fee. Once the visa is granted to you at the U.S. embassy or consulate, contact Tennessee Wesleyan College officials and inform them about the date and time of your arrival.
