Health & Wellness

At Tennessee Wesleyan College all full-time students have access to work-out at the Athens-McMinn YMCA facilities located on the north end of campus. The YMCA offers a variety of options for members. Membership is free for students but other services like personal training will be at the cost of the student.

From swim lessons to water aerobics, the YMCA's Aquatics program has something for everyone, including free swim times!

If you enjoy kickboxing, aerobics, yoga and Pilates, view the YMCA's schedule of classes and attend the one that's right for you.

The YMCA's newest class is a big hit. Find out what all of the hype is about by attending one of their cycling or spin classes.

If you prefer to work out with weights, play racquetball or basketball, or use the equipment in our Cardio Room, you can learn more about what the Y has to offer.

Personal Training
The YMCA's personal trainers can offer you advice on how to accomplish your goals and walk through workouts that are custom designed to assist you in accomplishing your goals.

Sports Programs
Staying in shape and active is fun when you are participating in one of the YMCA's sports programs, such as their men's 3v3 League and co-ed dodgeball tournament.

Counseling Services

The years you spend in college will be some of the most formative of your life, filled with exciting and scary changes. You will learn how to balance work with a social life, form new and closer relationships, develop personal and career goals, and gain the independence that comes with growing into an adult.

Tennessee Wesleyan College provides its students with a variety of options to fit the students' health and wellness needs. Depending on your needs, you may meet individually with the Dean of Students, or the College Chaplain. When necessary, students are provided with a limited number of visits to a The Family Center (a professional counseling center). Students may contact the Student Life Office at 423-746-5216 or call The Family Center directly at 423-745-8942.
