Special Education Summer Academy

Tennessee Wesleyan College's Special Education Summer Academy is for licensed teachers seeking an add-on endorsement in Special Education with an emphasis on Mild to Moderate Disabilities for Grades K-12.
The 20-hour certification prepares the future teacher candidate for working in an inclusive setting in the regular education classroom or a resource classroom. Emphasis is placed on the legal issues of Special Education, assessment, collaboration, characteristics of qualifying disabilities, behavior management, and the adaptive environment. The coursework does not meet graduate-level requirements, but may be used for license renewal credit.
Admission is through the TWC Admissions Office as a non-degree seeking student.
The cost for the endorsement is: $5,000 ($250 s.h.)
