AUTOBIOGRAPHY

I was born in Atlanta, Georgia but moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee at an early age. My college education began at the University of Tennessee, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. It was there that I discovered the Montessori philosophy. After receiving Montessori training in Camden, South Carolina, I went on to obtain my Masters of Education in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Carolina. Soon after securing a substitute position in an elementary school in Chattanooga, I began working on adding a Special Education endorsement to my teaching certificate from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga. I completed my Doctor of Education in Leadership and Professional Practice from Trevecca Nazarene University, Nashville.

I have one son, Benjamin, two horses, and two dogs. When not teaching, I enjoy running marathons, riding bicycles, and reading.
