Tennessee Wesleyan names Cornette Assoc. Dean of Nursing
Dr. Robert E. Cornette joins TWC faculty beginning July 1
ATHENS, Tenn. – Dr. Robert E. Cornette has been named Associate Dean of Nursing for the Tennessee Wesleyan College Fort Sanders School of Nursing, filling the position vacated by Dr. Ruth Elliott.
Cornette brings almost 30 years of professional experience to the position, including classroom, clinical and leadership positions. Most recently, he served as a full-time faculty member at Berea College and a part-time faculty member with Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions’ Doctor of Nursing Practice Program.
“We are so pleased to have such an outstanding individual to lead our already extraordinary nursing program,” said Dr. Suzanne Hine, vice president for academic affairs at Tennessee Wesleyan College. “Rob brings a wealth of knowledge both as a practitioner and educator to this position.”
Cornette earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Kentucky’s College of Nursing in 2008. He also holds degrees from the University of Tennessee and Otterbein College in Ohio.
“I am truly honored and excited to become part of the TWC community,” said Cornette. “I look forward to the opportunity to work with my new colleagues in the nursing program.
“My family and I are excited about returning to the East Tennessee area where our family and acquaintances live, and where we will make new friendships and memories for the future.”
Cornette will begin his position on July 1.
