TWC hosts 154th Commencement

TWC will host its 154th Commencement ceremony Saturday, May 7 at 9 a.m. in the Nocatula Gardens. The Baccalaureate service will take place Friday, May 6 at 8 p.m.

Commencement for the Class of 2011 will take place at the College's Nocatula Gardens Saturday, May 7 at 9 a.m. The ceremony will also honor the Classes of 1951 and 1961 as Golden Anniversary Alumni. The Rev. Dennie Humphreys, senior pastor at Keith Memorial United Methodist Church, is this year's Commencement speaker and Laura Swallows will be the student speaker for the Class of 2011.

The Baccalaureate service will take place Friday, May 6 at 8 p.m. in Townsend Hall Auditorium. The sermon will be provided by The Rev. Dr. Sam Roberts, TWC professor of religion, chairman of the Department of Religion and Philosophy, and associate dean of the humanities. Prior to Baccalaureate, the Alumni Office will host a brunch for all seniors, faculty and staff where Dr. Carol Decker will offer seniors "The Last Lecture."

The TWC-Fort Sanders Nursing Department will host its Senior Convocation and Pinning Ceremony for 2011 nursing graduates on Thursday, May 5 at 7 p.m. The event will take place at Cokesbury United Methodist Church located at 9908 Kingston Pike in Knoxville.
