TWC was host to Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Director Mark Gwyn's honoring of TWC friend Dr. Burkett Witt.

On Wednesday, July 9, Tennessee Wesleyan College was host to Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Director Mark Gwyn’s honoring of TWC friend Dr. Burkett Witt. At a special celebration on the steps of Old College, Gwyn presented Dr. Witt with a framed replica of the official seal of the TBI in appreciation for his dedicated service to the City of Athens.

“Dr. Witt has served both the Tennessee Wesleyan and Athens community for many years and it was a true privilege of mine to be present at the TBI’s honoring of such an important person in our community,” said Dr. Harley Knowles, TWC president.

In addition to Dr. Knowles, Larry Wallace, TWC senior vice president and retired TBI director, was also in attendance for the recognition.

“What Burkett has done for this college and this community is immeasurable,” said Wallace. “The TBI couldn’t have chosen a more deserving man to honor today.”
