Business Advisory Council holds fall meeting

On Tuesday, October 1, Tennessee Wesleyan College's Department of Business held its fall Business Advisory Council meeting. Business leaders throughout the local community met with TWC business faculty to focus on a plan to create and offer more internship opportunities for business students.
"The council recognizes that internship opportunities will better prepare students to compete in a tight job market," said Tony Bryant, TWC assistant professor of business administration.
TWC’s Business Advisory Council was formed earlier this year with the mission of serving as a communication link between TWC and the local business community. The BAC assesses program needs, provides vital professional advice for students, develops internship opportunities, recommends business contacts as potential TWC part-time instructors or guest speakers, and assists in developing career and job fairs.
New member Kathy Knight of the McMinn County Economic Development Authority was inducted into the BAC at the fall meeting.
Businesses that are interested in providing internship opportunities for Tennessee Wesleyan College students can contact Dr. Martha Maddox by phone at 423-746-5245 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
