This June Tennessee Wesleyan College will be offering a cheerleading camp that will be open to community children from the pre-kindergarten age to the eighth grade level. The camp will run 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. from June 17 to 21 and will be instructed by the men and women of the TWC 2013-14 cheerleading squad. The cost is $75 per child or $125 for two children. The registration deadline is June 10.

“This is the second year we’ve offered this,” said Jessica Edwards, TWC head cheerleading coach. “Last year’s cheerleading squad wanted to offer a service to the community, to mentor young cheerleaders who are aspiring to continue their cheer careers throughout their college educations. The 2013-14 squad wanted to continue this mentorship this year.”

Camp participants will receive cheerleading instruction and mentorship from the men and women of the TWC cheerleading squad and on the final day of camp, June 21 at 11 a.m., they will have an opportunity to showcase what they have learned throughout the week.

“The showcase will be open to parents and the TWC squad will be performing for everyone’s entertainment,” said Edwards. “Each camper will receive a t-shirt to wear for the showcase performance.”

Fifty cent snacks and dollar drinks will be available daily for campers. For more information or to register a child, visit TWC Summer Camps online or contact Jessica Edwards at 423.746.5331 or jedwards@twcnet.edu.
