III. COURSE DESCRIPTION
: A survey course of physical sciences designed to enhance a student's
understanding of
astronomy, physics, chemistry and geology and his relationship with
the physical world around him.

In this course a student is expected to:
define terms used in physics, chemistry, astronomy and geology.
explain natural phenomena in the physical sciences.
state physical sciences theories and relate them to natural phenomena.

XI E. ATTENDANCE
POLICY:
Attendance is required. If a test is missed because of illness, a make-up
test must be taken within one week
of the return to classes. If a test is missed because of an official school
function, the test should be taken before the scheduled test date. Lecture
attendance is required. Your grade is reduced by 10 points for every three
absences, excused or unexcused. Makeup labs are not possible unless
they are paper labs. Changes in dates of tests announced in class will
take priority over what is printed in this syllabus. You will attend class
when the instructor has excused absences.
F. Cellular Telephones: All cell phones, pagers, alarms, etc. must be turned off during all class meetings. If a disruption occurs, especially during exams, the device will be confiscated. Cell phones will not be used as calculators on exams!
XII. CLINICAL/LABORATORY/FIELD-BASED
EXPERIENCES: There will be a charge for the laboratory manual.
