| Dr. Joyce R. Baker joined the faculty at Tennessee
Wesleyan College in June, 1981 For many years, she served as the
only chemistry instructor. It is with great pleasure that she welcomes
Dr. John Berch to the Department of Natural Sciences chaired by Dr.
Mark Shoop. In August 2006 she was promoted to Associate Dean of Sciences
and Mathematics and acting chair of the Math Dept. She continues as
a Professor of Chemistry with duties in general chemistry, analytical chemistry
and physical science. JRB is a member of the Hiwassee Hiking Club and creates their monthly newsletter. She walks more than ever since Isaac has joined her home but is hiking much less. JRB also spends a lot of time in her garden. She hates to mow lawn on hot summer afternoons so she has removed all mowable grass and replaced it with a mixture of shrubs, perennials and annuals. Of course the chickweed, henbit and dead nettle keeps her and a student helper or two weeding year round. |
