Physical Science Laboratories. Developed a Physical Sciences Learning Laboratory which
incorporated audio-visual equipment, computers, appropriate software and
videolaser discs to be used as a lecture hall, recitation center, and “dry”
laboratory and requires the use of e-mail and web page evaluations. In
1998 began to use Venier software in chemistry laboratories. In 1986 began
using microscale experiments in organic chemistry. 1983 to 2005.
Chair of the Chemistry Department, 1981-2004. Responsible for long range
and yearly planning, budgeting, purchasing, scheduling, curriculum design, and
hiring, supervising, and evaluating of faculty. Uses spreadsheets, data
management and word processing skills to perform more effectively.
Maintained the chemical inventory and supervises the ChemMIST inventory control
project. The computer hard drive
crashed and a new system needs to be developed.
Associate Professor of Chemistry, Tennessee Wesleyan College, Athens, TN.
Academic advisor. Instructed General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry,
Quantitative and Instrumental Analysis, Advanced Inorganic Chemistry, Physical
Chemistry and Non-Technical Physics. 1981-1983.
