Biography

I was raised in North Africa and Southern Europe from birth through adolescence. My parents were missionaries for many years.  I returned to the United States when I was fourteen and continued my education here in the states.  Before joining the faculty at Tennessee Wesleyan College, I taught in the public schools for twenty-five years and was an administrator for seven years.

I primarily taught Chemistry and Physics and coached both boys soccer and girls basketball.  Education has been an integral part of my life since I moved to Tennessee.   I love working at Tennessee Wesleyan College and watching the students achieve the same dream that I had years ago.

I am married to a beautiful artist named Sara and have one son (Jason) who is an engineer in Atlanta, Georgia.  We settled in Ten Mile about twenty-eight years ago on a farm.  I am passionate about sailing and love to race as well as cruise to different destinations such as Cuba.

Tennessee Wesleyan has been a culminating experience concerning my life in education.  I am so happy to be helping to create the teachers of the future and shape the young minds of tomorrow.
