Welcome to Introductory Cell Biology. This course is the first in a series of courses (B 171- B 174) designed for first year students majoring in Biology or General Science/Biology and students minoring in Biology. This course provides a foundation for understanding biology at the cellular level. Lecture and discussion topics include: cell structure and function, cell chemistry, enzymatic reactions, cell division, genetic mechanisms, and life’s origin. The accompanying lab will introduce you to: scientific reasoning, scientific equipment and techniques, data collection, statistical analysis, and scientific writing.
