A Personal/Professional Statement

Professional Activities The Human Services major is intended for a growing number of students who will seek employment in a human-service-related profession upon completion of the undergraduate degree/or graduate study in social work or a counseling related field.  In this major, the academic study of the social and behavioral sciences is complemented by field placement opportunities which provide practical experience in and knowledge of service agencies in the community.  A strong component of the major is an emphasis on growth in self-awareness which is crucial to be effective in the Human Services profession.
