Rationale for Instructional Technology
Before adopting any pedagogical tool one should ask "Why do this?" Here are some articles which speak to the benefits of instructional technology.
Instructional technology is still a relatively new field. There are many diverse opinions about how it should and should not be used. Fortunately there are several organizations that have made thorough inquiries and have published some very helpful guidelines.

Often the best way to learn about the use of a tool is to look at examples where it has been used successfully. Here are some sites that will give you such information.
Pedagogical Theory
It is sometimes easy to become enthralled with the uniqueness or the glamour of technology. However, teaching and learning should be the primary purposes for using it in education.
