Bulldog Classic 5K

14th Annual 5K Race and 1-Mile Walk/Fun Run

The annual event is coordinated each spring by the students of the Tennessee Wesleyan College Exercise & Sports Sciences Department's Administration and Organization of Sport and P.E. class. Since this course is only a one-time requirement, each year a different group of students organizes the event. The 2012 race will be the 14th annual event and it continues to improve each year.

All proceeds benefit the Department. In 2010, the group earned $2,000 which was used to purchase a laptop and projector for one of the two classrooms utilized by the Exercise and Sports Sciences Department. In 2011, the group earned $2,800 which was used to purchase enough tennis racquets and lacrosse sticks for an entire class of future professionals. It also funded a three day trip for four Physical Education Majors to the annual TAHPERD conference and paid their memberships to organization for the entire year.

Registration & Check-in

  • Registration and Check-in begin at 7 a.m.
  • 5K Race begins at 8:00 a.m. 
  • Fun Run begins at 8:05 a.m.


Fees

1 Mile Run/Walk- $10.00 Includes 1 mile registration and t-shirt.
5K Early Bird (before April 15, 2012)- $20.00 Includes 5K registration and t-shirt.
5K (Phantom Runner)- $20.00 Includes 5K registration and t-shirt.
5K (After April 15, 2012)- $25.00 Includes 5K registration and t-shirt (as supplies last).
5K (Bronze Level Club)- $50.00 Includes 5K registration, t-shirt, and a polo shirt embroidered with the Bulldog Classic logo.
5K (Silver Level Club)- $75.00 Includes 5K registration, t-shirt, and a fleece jacket embroidered with the Bulldog Classic logo.
5K (Gold Level Club)-  $100.00 Includes 5K registration, t-shirt, and a running jacket embroidered with the Bulldog Classic logo.

 

Registration Categories

1-mile Run/Walk For a 1-mile run/walk around the TWC campus. Open to participants of all ages. Parents need to accompany small children. 
Phantom Runner If you want to contribute to the race without running, you can be a phantom runner. You'll receive the same registration items as a runner without the running!
  • 18 & Under 
  • 19-29 
  • 30-39 
  • 40-49 
  • 50-59 
  • 60+ 
 Each age category has both male and female divisions for the 5K road race. 
  • Under 30 (Competitive)
  • 30 and over (Competitive)
 A category just for those runners who want the extra challenge. These categories are recommended for seasoned runners or current members of a cross country team.
