A Quality Degree Employers Recognize

The Management Excellence Degree Program at Tennessee Wesleyan College is an accelerated hybrid format designed specifically for today's non-traditional students - working adults.  The program allows you to complete your degree in about 15 months - 1 to 2 nights per week - 1 to 2 classes at a time - 5 weeks in the core courses and 10 weeks in the emphasis courses. Classes are conveniently scheduled for 6 p.m., making for an easy transition from employee to student. The classes are filled with other non-traditional students just like you -- approximately the same age, with similar personal and work obligations.  Not only will you gain knowledge from your coursework, but also the interaction in the classroom adds great value to your education.  You will progress through the program with the same cohort group of people from beginning to end.  Strong communication, delegation, organizational and team-building skills are developed in this type of learning environment. In the Evening Program, students and professors discuss real-world issues and experiences, and a variety of networking opportunities are available.

Financial Aid

ME students are enrolled in at least 12 hours even though they are taking a minimum of one course at a time classifying them as full-time students.  As a result, they are eligible for the maximum in financial aid should they qualify. TWC's Financial Aid Office can assist in determining your eligibility for aid, including federal and state grants or loans. Applying for  financial aid is easy. Simply submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using the TWC school code:  003525 - our financial aid staff will even help you file your forms.  Please see the financial aid quick checklist below for specific instructions.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Employer Tuition Reimbursement Benefits

You may be eligible for a FREE college education! The majority of evening students take advantage of tuition reimbursement benefits offered by their employer. For a small fee, TWC allows students utilizing tuition reimbursement benefits to defer the tuition payment until the end of the semester. To find out if your employer offers this benefit, contact your human resources representative.

Military Benefits

TWC is a military friendly institution.  Military benefits are welcomed for approved veterans.  Many military benefit programs require veterans to be enrolled full-time to be eligible.  The ME program meets that requirement making this an ideal option for veterans wishing to take advantage of their military benefits and complete their goal of a bachelor's degree.

External Scholarship Opportunities

Institutional scholarships are not available in this program because the tuition is already offered at a discounted rate.  However, external scholarship opportunities may exist and can be researched on several websites including fastweb.com.  TWC is proud to have partnered with a few local organizations to offer some annual external scholarship opportunities including the Greater Athens Human Resource Association (GAHRA), the Loudon/Monroe Human Resource Association (LMHRA), and J103 Christian Radio.  For more information on these local scholarships, please contact Stefanie West at the phone number or email address listed above.
