Job Title: College President

The President of Tennessee Wesleyan College will provide vision and leadership and be responsible for giving strategic direction for every aspect of the College. The College requires an energetic, approachable and dynamic leader with diplomatic management skills. A pro-student approach and commitment for leading the College into an exciting future are essential. The President will play a pivotal role in engaging an enthusiastic community of alumni at a particularly stimulating time in the College's history. The President will need a strategic vision for alumni and community giving and will be expected to cultivate, solicit and steward the alumni and friends of the College.

Nature of Work:
Coordinate an overall vision for the College's future; oversee the vice presidents' work at the College; update and oversee the College's strategic plan; lead ongoing fundraising efforts; facilitate and maintain alumni relations; develop relationships with businesses, the community and alumni; facilitate and increase enrollment; and oversee academic program expansion.

Required/Desired Education, Experience and Necessary Qualifications:
The College seeks candidates with a minimum of three years of experience in management, and support of faculty, staff and students is desirable. Significant experience in an educational setting is necessary for vision, planning and to support College goals. Relevant leadership experience is preferred with a demonstrated ability of success with alumni relations and fundraising.

Requires: Graduate degree

Proven skills:
Negotiating with local community and donors; budget preparation and monitoring; planning and organizing management and leadership communication.

Demonstrated ability to:
Relate to all levels of the campus and community; be a team player who motivates and educates other members of the College and community; set and manage priorities; plan and implement marketing strategies for recruitment and retention of students; and solicit gifts from alumni and non-alumni.
