On April 23, Tennessee Wesleyan College will host Lynne Gylani Day, a birthday celebration in honor of Lynne Gylani, a TWC Spanish and French professor who was diagnosed with cancer several months ago.

Partnerships and Pajamas: TWC students offer "story time" to community children

Five Tennessee Wesleyan College education students have turned their passion for teaching into play and story time for community children. Partnering with E.G. Fisher Public Library, TWC Professor Nancy Gregg created "Pajama Storytime" a monthly event held at the library that serves community children and provides a service-learning opportunity to students in her Literacy and Language Acquisition class.

Windt honored with 2012 Exemplary Teacher Award

The United Methodist Church has awarded the spring 2012 Exemplary Teacher Award to Tennessee Wesleyan College's Dr. Nathan Windt, director of choral activities and assistant professor of music. Sponsored by the Division of Higher Education of the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry, the award recognizes Windt for his contribution to his students and the academic community.
TWC offers summer special education endorsement

This summer Tennessee Wesleyan College will be offering licensed teachers the opportunity to add an endorsement in special education during a summer academy from May 7 to July 27 that prepares teachers for working with special education students in an inclusive setting in the regular education classroom, a resource classroom, or a self-contained classroom.

TWC hosts ten schools in Science Olympiad competition

Saturday Tennessee Wesleyan College hosted Science Olympiad, a science-based competition that more than 6,200 teams from 50 U.S. states compete in each year. Student teams from four middle schools and six high schools competed in 23 open science events that tested their practical skill and understanding of science and engineering.
Women's basketball players receive academic honor

The NAIA recently honored 162 Division II Women's Basketball student-athletes with the 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes award. Tennessee Wesleyan College is home to five of the 162 young women who were recognized by the NAIA.
