Welcome Amy Grant to Campus. |
These
are exciting times in the life of our college. With over $10 million in
renovations and construction, record-breaking enrollment growth, live
concerts on campus from the likes of Amy Grant and even a commencement
address given by Pat Summitt, it is easy to see why TWC and Athens have
become a “hot spot” for students in the last two years.
The faculty,
students and staff have adopted the credo: Learn, Serve, Lead and Believe.
This aligns with our mission for developing leaders for life. TWC seeks to
instill the academic, professional and social skills necessary for each
student to become an exemplary leader in their chosen field. Our
expectations for your success are held in curricular and co-curricular
activities.
For
more than 150 years, Tennessee Wesleyan has provided excellence in
academics, intercollegiate activities, and spiritual and community-related
programs. All of our efforts are designed to enrich our students’ souls and
further their leadership abilities. We are very proud of our outstanding
relationship with the Holston Conference and the United Methodist Church as
we continue our search for “light and truth” initiated October 22, 1857.
Since our
founding, Wesleyan has been an integral part of the fabric of East
Tennessee, growing with McMinn County and contributing substantially to the
economic, social and cultural development of our region. The college enjoys
a reputation for fine teaching of life’s most important lessons. With new
energy and enthusiasm we embrace our emerging institution. The addition of
new degree programs, intercollegiate athletic teams and international
travel, and a top-tier ranking from U.S. News & World Report inspire our
work and direction. In short, there has never been a better time to join the
Tennessee Wesleyan family.
Ask any of our 6,000 alumni and they will tell you TWC has a rich tradition
of Learn, Serve, Lead and Believe. Unlike any other private, four-year,
liberal arts college affiliated with the United Methodist Church, TWC is one
of life’s “sure things.”
